🔧 No basemap option in 2D and better ply validations on upload

April 10, 2026

We received feedback that seeing your raster without a basemap can help highlight key aspects about your data so now you can choose to turn off the basemap in our 2D viewer. We’ve also improved the validations for when you upload ply files which should help make your data more meaningful and immediately useful.

📈 Project metrics

Have you ever wondered what happens when you send a project to a customer but never hear back?

Or what about when you send out a link on social media but then you have no idea if anyone has interacted with the data?

Starting today in all Pro plans, you’ll be able to see a “Metrics” tab in all projects that allows you to see who’s been viewing the project, when and how often they’ve viewed, and which files they’ve downloaded.

:geolocated-project: Project types

March 16, 2026

We know have two types of projects you can create: Georeferenced and Quickstart.

Quickstart projects will operate more or less like our current projects but Georeferenced projects will be tied to a specific CRS. This allows us to ensure files coming into the project match the project CRS and we can reproject for you on upload if things don’t seem to match.

This also unlocks the ability to upload GCPs to the Georeferenced projects so you can verify accuracy and you can also upload supporting documents to either project like accuracy report pdfs, documents, csv, or other text files.
