Uploading Point Clouds — Quickstart Projects

Supported Formats

.las, .laz, .e57, .ply

Note: .copc.laz files are not supported.

What We Check

When you upload a point cloud to a Quickstart project, we verify:

1. File name — must contain only standard characters (letters, numbers, dashes, underscores, etc.)
2. File size — must be within your plan's upload limit
3. File format — must be one of the supported formats listed above
4. LAS version (LAS/LAZ only) — versions 1.1 through 1.4 are supported
5. Point format (LAS/LAZ only) — formats 0, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 are supported

What Happens With CRS

Quickstart projects do not require coordinate reference system (CRS) information.

• If your file has CRS data, it uploads normally.
• If your file has no CRS data, you'll be asked to select a base unit (Metric or Imperial) so we can display your data at the correct scale.

When Upload Is Blocked

Your file will be blocked only if:

• The file format is unsupported
• The file name contains special characters
• The file exceeds the size limit
