Display

  1. The Display is automatically set to the ‘Default’ point cloud display.
  2. Select the ‘Adaptive’ option to view the point cloud as a point mesh.

Point Density

  1. Select from one of four options for visualizing Point Density: Very High, High, Medium, or Low.
  2. ‘Very High’ point density will display the maximum number of points in the budgeted limit. ‘Low’ point density will display the minimum point limit.
  3. ‘Very High’ point density is recommended for powerful machines and fast internet connectivity. For less powerful machines or slower internet connectivity, users are recommended to adjust the Point Density to ‘Medium’ or ‘Low’ to optimize performance and speed.

Units

  1. Select either Metric or English measuring units for distance, area, and volume calculations: meter and centimeter or feet and inches.

Effects

  1. Select from one of four Effects options: Color, Classification, Intensity, or Elevation.

    1. If a point cloud has Red Green Blue (RGB) values, the ‘Color’ option will display a colorized point cloud.
    2. If a point cloud has been classified, the ‘Classification’ option will display the classes present in the point cloud.
    3. If a point cloud has intensity values, the ‘Intensity’ option will display the point cloud intensity. The ‘Intensity Range’ slider can be used to adjust the intensity visualization.
    4. The ‘Elevation’ option will always be available. If a point cloud does not have RGB, classification, or intensity values, ‘Elevation’ will be selected by default.
      1. Use the ‘Elevation Range’ slider to adjust the elevation display. The upper range of the slider will adjust the maximum height of the elevation display, while the lower range of the slider adjusts the minimum height of the elevation.
      2. Users can also select from one of four ‘Gradient’ options for visualizing elevation: Spectral (default), Yellow Green, Plasma, or Custom.
        1. If ‘Custom’ is selected, click the “Lower Range Color” to set the minimum elevation color and the “Upper Range Color” to set the maximum elevation color.

  2. ‘Color’, ‘Classification’, and ‘Intensity’ Effects will only be available if those values are present in the point cloud. Otherwise, ‘Elevation’ will be selected by default.
