Save the markups on your Files as a Canvas without using up additional storage.

What are Files and Canvases?

  1. Files are the original data sources that the 3D data is stored in. Stitch3D is currently able to process and view 3D data files with extensions .LAS, .LAZ, .E57, and .PLY.
  2. Canvases are created from Files after markups such as measurements, annotations, flythrough videos, or view states have been saved. The markups are saved on top of the 3D source file and do not require additional storage. One 3D source file can produce unlimited canvases if multiple versions are saved.

What happens if a File or Canvas is deleted?

  1. If a File is deleted, all Canvases derived from that File will also be deleted, even those Canvases that have been shared with other users. Therefore, ensure that no work is being done on a Canvas before deleting a File.

  1. Deleting a Canvas will only send that specific Canvas to the ‘Trash’ page. Trashed Canvases will be permanently deleted after 30 days. Users given shared access to a permanently deleted Canvas will no longer have access to that Canvas and the shared Canvas will be removed from all ‘Shared’ pages.

How do I create a Canvas?

  1. Open the source file (the original .las/.laz, .e57, or .ply File) and begin editing the 3D file by adding annotations, measurements, or flythrough videos to the File. Once all markups have been added, click the ‘Save’ icon to save the markups as a Canvas.
